Blooming and Stitching

In my garden:

Hi everyone. We are madly packing, and stacking boxes, but I take some time in the evenings to stitch.
My June Block is complete:
I beefed up the pretty pink and white gimp trim with rows of buttonhole lace, added some purple to the fly stitch seam, and two seams of cast-on stitch chains, one in green and one in pink.

July has a lovely piece of warm lace-- a rose!-- pinned into place. I like how the fabric  below the lace repeats the curve.........

There are lots of little seams to embellish!

Work continues on my wrapping cloth.
This little dangle reminds me of a berry. It has 3 woven picot leaves and is topped with a Josephine knot cascade

It dangles on 3 buttonhole wrapped threads
and piece #6 is completed

Piece #7 is a little larger and has a 'wild' framed center lace piece with lots of open space for embellishing
I hope you've had some time this week to create, too.

I'd best get back to packing!

Thanks for visiting.

WIPs

Thanks to everyone who left such lovely comments on my last post. Right now, time does not permit me to reply to each of you.
Today, I am here so, if you have time, maybe you'll visit.
Have a wonderful week doing what you love.

"June is Bustin' Out All Over"

The gardens are growing, and flowers blooming with all the rain we've had lately. The photos tell the story:

On the stitching front, I've sewn down the trims on my June block, and I've begun some roses on the trellis fabric......not much progress, but I hope to get in more stitching next week

I've almost finished my piece #5 for my wrapping cloth:
I extended some of the buttonhole lace and joined sections together, creating more pockets and 2 bridges.
this lace extension joins the broderie anglais to the open edge of the fabric pocket
I added one of the beautiful lace pieces Robin sent me to decorate the large pocket

Here's how the piece looks now........but there's a little more colour needed, don't you agree?

And now some news:
We've sold our wonderful lakeside home, and we'll be moving in a month to the nearest city. We're looking forward to new adventures and new opportunities.
Now, I probably won't be able to post as often, nor will I be able to visit you and comment as often as I'd like to do. I'll try to keep up with my Tuesday Stitchers blog posts.
There's only 4 weeks to sort, cull, and pack everything for the movers!
Gee, I miss you already!

Wishing you all time to stitch, sew or tat and warm sunshiny days.

Thanks for visiting.

June Beginnings

Hey, Happy June!
From across the globe came a surprise package from Robin, in Australia.
Treasures were wrapped in this pretty paper napkin
a piece of guipure lace with some hand embroidery added
fabulous flowers

see these roses? they're perfect for my 'lace and roses' theme for my 2013 CQJP blocks.

Robin sent me these wonderful laces to add to my wrapping cloth and CQJP blocks. The laces belonged to her mother-in-law.
Thank you so much, Robin!

I completed my May block:
I like having the 'silkie' framed by the seam treatments
a few green beads add a bit of bling
and a pale  green vine climbs around the fabric trellis
June has begun with a few trims pinned in place

This block has lots of pink

Piece #5 of my wrapping cloth- naked

I tucked some 'wild fabric' strips beneath the open work areas of the hankie to show the delicate threads, then added french knots to secure them

then I added a 'skirt' of buttonhole lace
this broderie anglais is a small piece of a treasure found in the second-hand shop

buttonhole lace on lace edging added to a pocket
more buttonhole lace
and the corner of piece #5 looks like this

I hope to have time for more stitching next week.
Happy stitching!

Thanks for visiting.
